Perform the maintenance, repair, and replacement of heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning equipment. Conducts periodic inspections, identifies problem areas and coordinates repair methods. Respond to emergency service calls
1.Operates, maintains, and repairs HVAC, heating, and refrigeration equipment. Treats air by controlling temperature, humidity, cleanliness, and distribution of specific areas through an integrated air condition and ventilation equipment, accessories, and control devices.
2.Experience with chilled and heated water systems, boilers, hydronic hot/cold water distribution systems, packaged and split systems, air delivery systems, and their controls and components
3.Solders, brazes, and performs minor electrical work and troubleshoots equipment to a replaceable component level.
4. Reads and interprets Work Orders, parts requests, drawings/schematics/blueprints, and manuals to accomplish and maintain maintenance.
5.Must be able to work alone
Knowledge Skills and abilities
1.General knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the HVAC trade.
2.Must have excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral.
3.Able to read and interpret Work Orders, parts requests, drawings/schematics/blueprints and manuals in order to accomplish assigned duties.
4.Requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation, and teamwork.
1.High school diploma or equivalent
2.Industrial Trade Certificate/Diploma in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
3.NATE certification to perform maintenance work and repairs on HVAC systems NATE certification (Oil Hydronic) to perform maintenance work and repairs on Boiler systems. (Preferred, but if they do not have it, they must be able to pass the training once they arrive at the program)
4.All HVAC mechanics must hold a valid Universal EPA refrigeration handling certification
Minimum of 5 years of HVAC experience with trade certifications in refrigeration, heating, and cooling systems
Salary $ 2.93 per hour – 48 hours a week
