Duties:

Performrninstallation and operation of water purification equipment.

Perform Pm checks inspections for Non potablernwater and potable water production equipment’s.

Maintain and operate standard laboratory testing equipment i.e.rnTurbidimeters, colorimeters, pH meters, M272 chemical Agent and other waterrnpurification equipment

Maintain a smooth and efficient operations andrnminor maintenance of all water-pumping plants, reservoirs and water treatmentrnequipment including a reverse osmosis filtration system

Produce, store and issue portable water. 

Perform water quality analysis (testing andrnverification for human consumption and for industrial use).

Undertake overall maintenance and improvement ofrntreatment works and distribution network components including replacement/installationrnof water mains,sub-main,pumps and valves where needed.

Supervise, train and monitorrnoperators/technicians as they Operates and controls water purificationrnequipment I e reverse osmosis plants, electric motors, pumps and valves and adjustrnautomatic devices that disinfect, deodorize, and clarify water, Cleans tanksrnand filter beds..

Duties:

 Carry out a technical assessment to establishrnthe specific aspects of repair and rehabilitation of water systems in targetrnlocations and prepare strategies for corrective action including rehabilitationrnand development of new sources as needs demand.

Ensure the smooth daily operations of the water,rnsanitation and hygiene project

Supervise,perform installation and operation ofrnwater purification equipment ie Reverse osmosis units and Uv filter units forrndrinking water.

Carry out water quality analysis and train localrnstaff in water quality monitoring. This includes :HTH (calcium hypochlorite,rnbleach) mixing ratios for 0.5%,0.05% and DNP, Residual chlorine testing, PHrntest for the potable (Drinking) water to be used at the ETU

Developing regular water quality monitoringrnschedules and keep records of water quality surveillance of all water points inrnthe target locations.

Working with the drilling contractor and thernhydro geologist identify locations that require new drill water points andrnensure that all work done conforms to minimum standard in engineering design,rnand workmanship and ensure appropriate supervision of contractors to ensurerncompliance with contract documents.

Prepare a training program and conduct trainingrnfor community /village based pump-mechanics on installation of pumps for newlyrndug wells.

Provide technical support to other project staffrnin the implementation of the project including ensuring a well-integratedrnhygiene awareness and promotion component that will ensure communityrnmobilization and involvement for sustainability.

Train and mentor Wat-San and Field Officers torncarry-out hygiene promotion campaigns, ensuring that wat-san and hygienernpromotion strategies conform to international standards and donor requirements.

Manage operations at the water treatment plant

Test and maintain water quality standards forrnthe ETU(Ebola Treatment units) use eg (0.5% and 0.05% ) HTH

Coordinate with logistics in procurement of allrnnecessary items and materials for projects including all materials and servicesrnrelated to the water and sanitation projects

Supervisernthe delivery of water to residents clinical facilities (ETU)

Manage the sanitation and sewage collection andrndisposal system

Ensurernstandards and disposal procedures are followed

Manage the solid waste management system
